Aston Law School (ALS) where the PI is based, is housed within the College of Business and Social Sciences. ALS was ranked among the top 20 in the UK for research quality in Law in the recent Complete University Guide 2021. ALS is home to the Internet Law and Emerging Technologies (ILET) Research Unit, with particular research strengths in Internet law, privacy and data protection law, media law, intellectual property law, commercial law, dispute resolution, financial regulation law, etc.
Aston University is also home to a number of leading research institutes such as the Aston Institute of Forensic Linguistics (AIFL) who undertake cutting edge research on a range of themes including online speech and harassment, online offending, and online sexual abuse conversations.
