After the success of last year’s conference, the euCONSENT team has decided to run another conference on the 25th of May in Athens. We hope to have rather more in person attendees now that travel restrictions have eased; however, it will be a hybrid event to give the opportunity for people to attend virtually. Preparations are already under way, with discussions on which topics will be included in the schedule. We hope that the conference will be as well-received as the last one. There were over 160 participants in our first event, and we were pleased that the virtual conference platform we selected gave those who could not be there in person an equal opportunity to engage and ask their questions.

As part of the initial research phase, my team and I have been researching the world of age verification for the euCONSENT project. The aim was to ascertain how EU member states protect against minors accessing age restricted products, services and content online. The research was divided into four main areas; alcohol, tobacco, gambling and adult content.
